Found when a nearby cache was posted with a waypoint for this brass cap, but didn't know what to do with it then! https://coord.info/GL11QC73P

I snagged this Cap back in April of 2005 with another cacher or two. j2d2 had snagged the FTF the previous day. I thought that he was with us that day 🤷♂️ ... sooooo I'm getting old I guess, bad memory.

Anywho, after finding a really nicely hidden nearby geocache I arrived here and started to search, and search, and search! Ugh, my capping skills are rusty and, to top it off, I lost my long, thing screwdriver that I use to poke for caps at the previous geocache (I assume).

Fortunately I had my compass with me and after a bunch of compass sweeping, some falsely dug mini-holes, and referencing my old pictures the Cap was revealed, about 1 inch BGL ... it was last found by OBA in April of 2017 so I guess that a few years made a difference!

Took a few pics, great spot for views of Bow Valley, covered the Cap with a rock, and headed home.

So if you've never found this Cap, now's a good time (and great weather) to snag this one.

A good day 🤷♂️🤷♂️

It was a tough find but Iron Phoenix and I were still laughing as we looked. On our way to the cache someone called Pippin (my geo dog) a walking pillow

Thanks to Outforthehunt for maintaining the Brass Cap cache for everyone to enjoy!

I managed to convince One Bad Ant that with the impending doom.... er, I mean, the upcoming change in logging rules, that we should do a multi-day blitzing of Brass Caps! Of course silly us, we came at it from the bottom of the hill. It didn't look THAT far up. Oh well, we got there, survived, and the furry cacher had a great time helping out (as usual) Apparently it was reported to be a bit difficult to find with the coords bouncing, but I found that where I had stopped to look at my GPSr when it was telling me I was 0m-1m away, I just needed to turn around and take a step and I was on top of it! It's in pretty good shape - a few scratches but just fine. TFTCap!!

Heading out for my second cap run of the day, I was able to add 8 more to my found list. I started on the west side of town along the Bow, moved into Edworthy and the Bowness area then headed south to Signal Hill. I found every one I sought. Thanks for the caps.
