We got a good rest after yesterday's Athabasca cap adventure. Today would be much easier as we had the first flight booked on this morning's tram which would take us within 150m of the cap. Littlest TiE bolted out of the tram station and was at the cap long before us. What a great view of the Athabasca River and the Jasper townsite. After this it was a nice hike up to the summit. Another great day hiking, caching and cap hunting. Thanks for the cap OFTH!

Jasper

The day started out overcast with threat of rain. The ride up the tram was enjoyable and the walk to the cap on the cool side but still nice. The cap stood out promanantly at it's location and easy to spot.

We continue on past the cap to the summit. On the way up the winds picked up and the rain started. The wind was blowing so hard at times that the impact of the rain on the face would sting. On our way down the wind was at our back. The mountian eventually blocked the wind and the rest of the downwards trek was enjoyable. We entered the upper terminal just was a tram car was leaving so we knew we had a 8 to 9 min wait. we boarded the next car that arrived at the terminal only to asked to exit as they closed down the tram due to the weather. having nothing better to do we headed upstiars for lunch. While having lunch we watch the clouds roll up the mountain and engulf the area. We seen lightening that seemed to be horizontal from us and just outside the window. All the while and heavy downpour pelted against the window.

We finally we able to get on the 1st car down after about an hour and a half delay. The inner child in me decided to start a conversation with the conductor questioning the last time the tram car broke down halfway down the mountian..lol
