No contest, this was the feature cap of the day by some margin.
On the blood pumping hike up, we were treated to some terrific fall weather, colorful scenery and a much needed stretch of the legs after the long drive.

Because of its out of the way location and the tricky route finding involved, this cap has rarely been found(by cachers anyway) and that just served to make this one a bit more satisfying.

TFTCap ofth in another interesting location.

Well this cap was our primary target for the day. We found a fairly good access point that took us a ways off the beaten trail. The wild fire had come through this area with a number of charred trees and a significant number that were left untouched.

We couldn't drive in very far as the bridges on the access road were burnt and only the old metal framework remained. So we hiked up to the tower - fording a few streams, avoiding significant boggy and mud patches along the ATV / cutline trail.

We arrived at the lookout tower by mid-afternoon and snapped a few pictures before continuing on to the cap - dead in the middle of the bush - some 500 metres away.

It was the perfect day for this off the beaten trail hike and quite challenging with the many drainages crossing the area - simply a very cool location - thanks OFTH for the interesting cap placement and to Strider's Ride for the terrific conversation along the trail!
