Had to get out the metal detector for this one. Also took awhile to dig and chip out all the ice. TFTC

I was more than a bit surprised at the condition of the trunk road north from #11. It was in a lot nicer shape than I'd feared and I made very good time to the cap.

The marker post and the marker rock are both gone but the excavation around the pin is still there. The pin was only covered by a handful of dead leaves today. I expect that anyone brave enough to venture up here in the winter would find that the pin would be buried beneath a whole lot of snow.

Thanks for the brass cap, outforthehunt.

We arrived here just prior to sunrise, in need of a good leg stretch after a few hours on the road. The cap/pin didn't take too long to locate although the depression in the ground was no longer covered by TIE's rock and searching in poor light via flashlight is tricky.

We arrived at the cap site this morning just before sunrise and spotted the obvious depression and the cap as excavated by the earlier finders - thanks!

In fact the morning was so nice I decided to ford the Blackstone River to pick up VP's cache a few hundred metres to the north. Thanks OFTH for setting up this cap and I'll send you the pictures!

For me, this cap was a “bonus” since I'd missed it during the pre-planning before coming out to the Nordegg area for a caching trip with VP. After we parked at the large-sized pull out, and looked at our devices we immediately wondered if I'd actually parked over the cap! As it turned out we hadn't and it was VP's sharp eye that found the rock covering up the pin.

Thanks so much to BVPete and Taking It Easy for excavating this one out for others to find! ** Hail to TiE's magic compass!**

Ah, a “bonus” cap find on a great caching trip! That was sweet! Thanks for cap!
