I grew up a couple hundred metres from this park, and spent a LOT of time flying kites and shooting off rockets from here. In fact this berm is probably the exact location those rockets got fired from. That was in the 70's, but the date on this guy looks like 1970 so it should have been there for me to trip over back then :)

We followed our GPSs to the top of the hill and Mrs Shark was about to remark that it wouldn't be fair if Mr Shark found the cap while she had her eyes closed while sneezing, but the sneeze came out first. When she opened her eyes Mr Shark was pointing at the cap right at her toe! Wow, we really were having some good luck today and Mrs Shark was getting her fair share of finds despite regular sneezes. Some of our "luck" has been thanks to recent finders who have uncovered or dug out caps and we thank them for their efforts. A note to future visitors to this little park: Alexander Thiele Park is home to ents--we spotted two of them in our brief time there! Perhaps they could be helpful if asked? TFTBC that took us to another pretty little park.

My final cap of the day and the one that took me, by far, the longest to find. There was a baseball game happening in the field next to the cap but I hoped I was far enough away from all that that I could search in peace. Which I did but I guess it was still a distraction for me, as it was not easy. I studied the context pics....are there none without snow?! lol I just could not sense the distance/angle from the hydrant at all!

Finally I got the 'on top of the berm' clue and marked a waypoint at the fire hydrant. That brought me close enough to GZ to finally spot the little bugger. I sat and grabbed my pics and then got out of there! Phew! Glad I didn't have to DNF. TFTBC OFTH and the great morning of capping!
