With the ground frozen solid and no metal detector available, it seemed highly unlikely that we'd be able to find this 8-inch-deep cap today, so we didn't really try very hard.

After a defeat at the Oyen puzzle, we headed over to attempt this one. Looked simple enough except that it had recently rained and there were several puddles. Our iphone would not settle down and the metal detector was back home. So after some curious looks by the local muggles, we decided to go for lunch. We will be back through here again so we will be properly equipped next time!

When I pulled over there were a couple of muggles talking across the road and they sure gave me an odd look. That's what I love about small towns, everyone seems to know everyone. Anyhow they kept watching me as I walked over and thankfully spotted a divot in the ground. After removing some dirt, I was able to expose the cap.
I searched for this cap a week ago while on my way to the Mega Event in Rosthern SK but I had no success even though I used my metal detector. Today, I tried again and still had no luck so I figured out I needed new batteries. So I went to a store to get some new 9 volt batteries and I had just parked when GypsySoul71 approached me. We had a phone conversation a week ago about her new puzzle cache in Oyen and then at Rosthern, she gave me a geocoin for a FTF prize for that cache. It was great seeing her again but then I was off to search for this cap once more. This time, the metal detector worked perfectly and the cap was soon located. I had to dig down about 8 inches to expose it. Email to follow.
