We were a little concerned about the private property comments on this cap. We got to the resort and asked if we could tour the facilities. The friendly staff gave us a map and told us all the features of the area. What a great place!! We drove towards the cap and encountered private cabins with no trespassing signs. We decided to see if there was another way to the cap assuming that the residents didn't own the beach rights. We hit the beach and started a leisurely stroll of 500+m in the sand along the beach. We hit the private cabin area but there were no signs saying that we couldn't keep going. We ran into some residents who said thay we were good to keep walking along the beach. We continued on and soon arrived at the cap without running into any signs or resistance. Maybe it was blissful ignorance, but I was quite satisifed with our approach to this one. We soon found the cap and a neighbouring Sat Nav cap and then strolled back to the truck. On the way back we elected to remove our shoes and stroll in the water. How refreshing. What a neat beach on a huge lake. A very fun cap. Thanks OFTH!!!

After obtaining a guest pass from the friendly staff at the booth, we proceed to take a small tour of the facilities and what a terrific spot this is for a vacation. It seems to have just about everything one could ask for in a lakeside vacation, marina, beach volleyball, frisbee golf, restaurant, store, stage, etc..even the weather was cooperating with the holidaymakers today. Another great spot to visit.

After findng a suitable access point, the short walk along the beach to the cap was most enjoyable.

We decided to make the short drive up to Hilliard's Bay Provincial Park and the location of this cap along the north shore of Lesser Slave Lake. We asked at the campground gate if we could check out the area and were given a guest pass for the facility. After a short drive we found good parking and enjoyed a short 250 metre walk along the beach to the cap site. The cap is in a terrific spot with outstanding views towards the lake - TFTH and fun in an amazing spot!
