Dapp is a VERY quiet town. With an old hotel, grain elevator, train stop and recreation building. The only person around was a farmer out cutting the town grass with his tractor. The cap was behind the train stop and back in the bush. I have seen this type of cap a few times. What a neat little Alberta town. A great place for a cap find. thanks for the cap OFTH! P.S. The better half of 2Sloths came second in an exciting finish and is now headed to Rio for the Olympics next month. Woohoo! 2015-05-24T20:00:00 Found it Coolcat21 BCP635 – Dapp Posted: N54° 20.634' W113° 54.743' My GPSr: N54° 20.63[b]6[/b]' W113° 54.74[b]5[/b]' Well, now I can say I’ve been to Dapp. According to the 2011 census there were 34 people living in 14 dwellings in Dapp, but I didn’t see a person or vehicle during my entire visit this quiet Sunday afternoon. After parking near the hotel, I made my way across the tracks with only my GPSr and camera in tow. When I got to the “cap” (it’s actually a pin) I found a cover that was really proving difficult to get off. It’s of the coned shaped variety and there’s actually quite a bit of iron there to lift. I decided I needed more tools and as I returned to the car found a long yellow piece of metal that may be been an escapee from a train car. “Well that will do the trick”, said I, and it did! I left the tool at the cap site for future cappers. Here at Dapp, I was serenaded by the howling of coyotes off in the distance, while using the flashlight to navigate through the darkness over to the cap site. Very atmospheric. TFTCap ofth
