I tried. Goodness knows I tried, but I wasn't able to find this one today. There was no evidence of a simple "divot" to pick up to reveal the cap that other logs mentioned.

Even with all the tools available and time to use them I came up empty on this one.

After a day of work in Edson, we were off to Grande Cache for this cap and then to Jasper for the new cap south of town. Great views from this cap. TFTH

I was in the Hinton area and decided to make the relatively short drive to Grande Cache to check out this newer cap and a couple of caches in the area. The cap site is north of town and just off Highway 40 in a convenient parking area. Similar to the Collinge Road cap, this cap was covered by a small piece of sod. Terrific - lift the sod and take the money shot! The cap site offers a scenic view of the Smoky River Valley - very nice. Thanks OFTH for setting up this fine cap!

I was on my way home from work and decided to give this one a try. I arrived at gz and found the survey post but the cap was no where to be seen. I had to use the hints on the cache page to figure out where to begin to look for the cap and then noticed a slight depression in the ground. Not having a metal detector or even a shovel to dig with, I took a chance that I had the right spot and used my hiking pole to dig. I didn't take me long and I was able to feel something solid. I'm glad it was the cap and not a rock,as a hiking pole does not make the best tool to dig with and had it been a rock I may have just gave up.

Email of cap #'s and pic has been sent and approved.

Thanks for the cap at a stop with a beautiful view.
