The drive up to the Slave Lake area went without a hitch today as the roads were in excellent condition. We parked on the NE end of the bridge off the highway and walked back to the cap on the SE corner of the bridge railing. The Otauwan River was running high today which is a good sign of the coming of summer - thanks OFTH!

I stopped at the Otauwau River this morning. I had actually used this Brass Cap in 2004, so I knew where it was, yesterday when it published. I have been trying to use Locus Maps as my mainstay geocaching app for several months, ever since VP introduced me to it. The problem with that idea, is that you have to manipulate the phone while trying to take a photo screenshot. Today, that was a problem as my photo was taken as the phone was trembling in my shaking hands. No gloves and kneeling in fresh melting snow ( - 10c) 3 with big rigs barrelling down on me. " Doesn't anyone slow down when they see people on the bridge?" NO!

Parking can be had about 150m west of the cap site. Its about 168m from the east end of the barricades' so you might as well walk over from the parking.Parking is on the correct side of the highway. My old archived Otauwau River cache site is the Parking area.

Thanks OFTH for this well placed cap.
