McNally is the place I went to High School, so it was nice to see a cap I could grab here. I didn't have the coords in my GPS but had heard it was behind the benches, so went to the benches at the lookout before i plunked coordinates in. Well that was wrong, had to hoof it 150 or so metres south (reminding me of high school gym class) , still looking for the bench in the description, ended up finding it without :) woot.

When this trip was first planned in April it was shortly after our spring bonnets had been snatched away and toques thrust back onto our heads. We were forced to seriously consider the weather at our destination. Our preferred destination was Calgary and the Anniversary Cap but the weather was much snowier there than in Edmonton, so we prepped for a trip to the north. Now that we are just as suddenly switched from our toques to our summer sun hats we might have gone south, but preparations were in place for Edmonton and the decision to come was made only last night. So we visit this cap somewhere in the middle both in BCP number and distance between two caps we'd love to visit: BCP772 15th Anniversary in Calgary and BCP777 in Hinton.

Something was going on at the school but we parked at the far, empty end of the parking lot...and before we could get out we had three more vehicles pull into adjacent stalls! Reading logs as I write our logs the day following it's surprising that we didn't meet a fellow capper at one cap or another through the day, but none of these vehicle occupants were on that type of mission. Well we were and we followed the GPS arrow noting that the goals have been moved some distance to the southeast since the cap description was written. Mrs Shark was distracted by a divot, but Mr Shark zeroed in on the slightly raised cap. One of few caps we found today that's in fairly good shape although it is a bit offset on its base...like we were both feeling today, a bit off centre...but we were enjoying being out and taking the therapy of sunshine, warmth, fresh air and the healing properties of brass. Thanks for all that today and many times in the past, ofth!
