I haven't tried to find any of the newer survey sites that have been identified since the original BCC was archived. I was out doing the west side of the Maple Leaf with BehmSquad and he talked me into doing the last hill to this cap location. It took a little digging as we had none of the tools of cap hunting as the marker was snow and ice covered. We were persistent and uncovered the familiar looking cap - a nice spot for sure - TFTH and fun!

I talked Sleepy Hollow into taking another trip to the Maple Leaf. We decided to tackle the west side which had us parking not too far from this unfound brass cap. I'm not sure that I've had a first to find on a brass cap before and was hoping today would be the day. After reaching GZ, we found several post markers but no cap. We identified the most likely spot and set about digging. The ground was still very frozen, but with rocks and poles, we were able to make some progress. Eventually the cap revealed itself just as snow started to fall. Thanks for the cap.
